Who can come eat at the soup kitchen? Everyone is welcome! We do not have a residency requirement, because so many of our diners are homeless. We welcome diners from the East Bay, including from Providence to Newport and Tiverton.
What are the hours of the food pantry? Wednesday 9-11:30 and 12-1:00
What Time are the meals served? Breakfast is served from 8:00 to 9:00 and lunch is served promptly at 11:30.
What hours do you accept donations? Monday-Friday 8am-2pm.
How do I qualify for the monthly food bag? You need to bring some type of identification. Unlike the soup kitchen you do need to live in the East Bay area, which includes any towns between Providence and Newport or Tiverton.
If any, what are the hours of operation on holidays? The soup kitchen and pantry are closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Christmas. All other holidays will be the regular hours from 8am-2pm. Please note if East Providence Schools are closed due to inclement weather we will also be closed.
Do you run any special programs during the Holidays? Yes, we give out a food basket for both Thanksgiving and Christmas and we also hand out toys to children through our Holiday Store.
Are you religiously affiliated? No, although we are located in St, Brendan's former school building.
